TODD BYER, class of 1987
Lefty Todd Byer left little doubt that Glendale was the team to beat in league in 1986 after leading GHS to a stunning win against league powerhouse Muir. The win snapped Muir's 32-league win streak. Byer, the league's co-MVP and third team all-CIF selection, was the dominant force for the Nitros. He gained valuable experience while playing at Trojan Club and went on to play at USC.
He would later coach at GHS.
