MATT HAHN, class of 2002
All-America
Gary Nelson Memorial Award
The area's best player and athlete as a senior. Matt Hahn earned All-America
honors from the AWPCA and NISCA and was all-Southern California, first team all-CIF, All-Area player of the year
and Pacific League co-MVP. He scored 104 goals his senior season and broke the school record for most steals in
a game (14 vs. Peninsula) and most career steals (260) held by Kevin Witt.
He is the second fastest GHS swimmer ever in the 50 (21.90), 100 (47.3), and 200-yard (144.51) freestyles. The
Glendale News-Press named Matt as the most outstanding high school male athlete for the 2001-2002 school year.
