JOHN MacKINNON, class of 1980

All-America
John MacKinnon made his name as a swimmer who routinely made the CIF finals in any event he chose. As a water polo player, he was awesome. Too fast to catch and too tough to guard. He was the Foothill League Player of the Year in 1979 and led the Dynamiters to the league title and into the second round of the CIF playoffs. He still holds school swimming record in the 50-yard freestyle at 21.89. MacKinnon was named to the second team All-CIF and the All-America team.
