Inclusion Committee

Inclusive Education

The Glendale Unified School District provides an inclusive, high quality education that addresses the unique potential of each student in a safe, engaging environment.

  • In 2017, GUSD created an Inclusion Committee to evaluate current inclusion structures and practices in our schools and develop a practical, ongoing, and sustainable system of support for inclusion and interventions. The committee consists of school and district administrators, general education teachers, special education teachers, and teacher specialists from both the elementay and secondary level.

Vision Statement for Inclusion:

Glendale Unified School District faculty and staff will:

  1. Work collaboratively to ensure all students succeed;
  2. Embrace best practices to support multiple means of representation, expression and engagement so that all students have an opportunity to access high-quality instruction and content; and
  3. Demonstrate an inclusive philosophy through the use of differentiation for all students.

Equality vs. Equity

Not every student benefits from the same supports. However, if each student is given the supports they need, all students will succeed.
